Lucy is the co-head of Freshfields’ global international arbitration group and public international law group. A specialist in the energy sector, she advises private and public clients in commercial and treaty arbitrations and selectively sits as an arbitrator. Lucy is ranked by Chambers and Partners as Band 1 in Global-wide Arbitration, Asia-Pacific Region Arbitration, and China Dispute Resolution: Arbitration.
Lucy served as President of the American Society of International Law from 2008 to 2010. She was the first general counsel of the Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization, in which capacity she led negotiations with North Korea.
Lucy has contributed to numerous publications on arbitration including The Freshfields Guide to Arbitration, Guide to ICSID Arbitration and A Guide to the SIAC Arbitration Rules.
